Back in January, as I was working on my goals for the new year, I made a decision that I came to regret; that being to close down my blog, “Greg’s Garden Party. By the end of March, the pandemic was very much in the news, social isolation was taking over our lives and I was longing for a means to reach out to other people.
After numerous conversations with my wife Catherine, we decided to start a new blog called “Cultivating the Good Life” which would expand what I was already doing with vegetable gardening to include many of the other horticultural activities that we are involved in. We also both love to cook and plan to share our food experiences with you. We are creating a wildflower meadow to attract pollinators. Catherine tends a variety of flower gardens, perennial beds, shrub borders and theme gardens. We are going to spend some time talking about them.
We also decided to start raising chickens again and are eagerly awaiting the arrival in June of five “Swedish Flower Hen” chicks. Yeah, there’s lots to talk about. With the news being so depressing, it is going to be good for us all to concentrate more on the beauty of nature and our efforts to help it along.
We want to be clear about one thing: we want your feedback. We would love to hear about your experiences. We don’t want this to be just about us. Sharing is a two way street. Our site will not have ads or pop ups like so many others. This is all from the heart. We are reaching out. Come join our community.
All the best,
